David W. Kohl, M.D., FACC

Dr. Kohl has been in private practice since 1985 and is an original partner of Bay Area Heart Center.  His under graduate work was performed at the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was named a Morehead Scholar. He continued at UNC for his medical studies, graduating in 1979.

His Internal Medicine internship and residency were served at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire. He was Chief Medical Resident of the same institution in 1982-1983. From 1983-1985, he was a Cardiology fellow in the Brown University Affiliated Hospitals.

Dr. Kohl is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the fields of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional cardiology. He is the current President of Bay Area Heart Center, and has served in numerous hospital positions including Chief of Staff, Chief of Internal Medicine, and chairman of pharmacy and therapeutics at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute. His outside interests include scuba diving and yoga.
