Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Bay Area Heart Center offers the finest in outpatient diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Our new state-of-the-art, entirely digital Cardiac & Vascular Catheterization Suite specializes in taking pictures of the blood vessels of the heart, commonly known as a coronary angiography right in our comfortable and convenient Park Street office.  Our catheterization laboratory is one of the few in the state of Florida to receive full accreditation by the Joint Commission On Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Our equipment also offers digital subtraction angiography (DSA) allowing us to obtain angiograms of other important blood vessels throughout the body including those of the legs, neck, and kidneys.  The Bay Area Heart Center Cardiac & Vascular Catheterization Suite also has comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring capabilities to accurately diagnose and assess valvular heart problems as well as coronary artery disease.

Outpatient catheterization frequently avoids the need for hospitalization. However, if later hospitalization for elective angioplasty or surgery is indicated, it can be carefully planned using the results of your outpatient catheterization. An important advantage of outpatient catheterization is that hospital procedures and alternative treatments can be knowledgeably discussed in detail with patients and their families in advance once the outpatient catheterization is complete.

Bay Area Heart Center cardiologists specialize in making outpatient catheterization a quick, easy, and comfortable procedure. Most patients can go home just a few hours after the catheterization is finished. We utilize the latest innovations in vascular access and vascular closure to get you back on your feet again quickly once your procedure is completed. If your cardiologist recommends a catheterization, be sure to ask if your procedure can be done as an outpatient right in the office!
