Description of this test: This test is performed by moving a smooth instrument (Doppler ultrasound) over the abdominal area. Sound waves are used to image the mesenteric arteries in the abdomen to check for blockages.

What to do to prepare for these tests: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day before the test. Morning medications can be taken with a minimal amount of water.
