Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound
Description of this test: This test is performed by moving a smooth instrument (Doppler ultrasound) over the abdominal area. Sound waves are used to image the aortic artery in the abdomen to check for aneurysms.
What to do to prepare for the test: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day before the test. No soda for 24 hours prior to exam. Gas-x morning of exam will help with study. Morning medications can be taken with water.
