Cardiomyopathy
An acquired or hereditary disease of heart muscle, this condition makes it hard for the heart to deliver blood to the body, and can lead to heart failure.
Symptoms include breathlessness, swollen legs and feet, and a bloated belly.
Drugs, implanted devices, surgery, and in severe cases, transplant, are treatments.

Carotid artery disease
Carotid artery stenosis can be caused by cholesterol build-up in the blood vessels (atherosclerosis). Blood clots can form in this area and travel up to the brain.
This condition may be present for a long time before symptoms appear. When symptoms do occur, stroke or brief stroke-like attacks are common.

Claudication is a condition in which cramping pain in the leg is induced by exercise, typically caused by obstruction of the arteries.
