Whether the cardiologist sees you in the office or in the hospital, he or she will review your medical history and perform a physical examination which may include checking your blood pressure, weight, heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Some problems may be diagnosed by your symptoms and the doctor’s findings when you are examined. You may need additional tests such as an ECG, x-ray, or blood test. Other problems will require more specialized testing. Your cardiologist may recommend lifestyle changes or medicine. Each patient’s case is unique.

Dr. Amber Tas entered the field of medicine with a desire to not only provide excellent care, but also to make a personal connection with every patient.  She chose to attend osteopathic medical school, giving her a strong foundation of knowledge, a holistic understanding of the human body, and a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection.

During post-graduate training, her passion for her profession led to her being selected for the distinguished positions of chief internal medicine resident and later, chief cardiology fellow.

Dr. Tas is board certified in internal medicine and is board eligible for certification in cardiovascular diseases. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. Her current practice scope includes preventive cardiology, screening for cardiovascular disease, management of coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, with further interest in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.

Outside of work, Dr. Tas enjoys pursuing physical fitness interests, discovering new music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
